2025 Annual General Meeting
Join us for a day of connection and learning at the Manitoba Mennonite Historical Society’s (MMHS) annual general meeting!
In 2024, the MMHS began commemorating the 150th anniversary of the first Kanadier Mennonites’ settlement in Manitoba. Hear how we’ve marked this historic milestone and what’s still to come in 2025!
The meeting begins at 1:00 PM in the Mennonite Heritage Village’s (MHV) auditorium. Come early or stay afterward to enjoy these free special events:
Explore the MHV’s latest exhibit, Mennonite Reflections: Arriving in Manitoba 150 Years Ago, which highlights the stories of early Mennonite settlers and the Indigenous peoples who have long called Manitoba home.
Go behind the scenes in the MHV’s vault with senior curator, Andrea Klassen, and assistant curator, Garth Doerksen, to explore a remarkable collection of artifacts that bring the Mennonite story to life.
Experience Where the Cottonwoods Grow, a powerful documentary that commemorates the Mennonite migration from South Russia (present-day Ukraine) to Manitoba in the 1870s.
We’re grateful to the MHV for hosting this year’s gathering and offering free access to their exhibit and vault. While you’re visiting, be sure to stop by the Livery Barn Restaurant to purchase and enjoy some delicious traditional Mennonite fare!
